Honorarium Consideration

The Wonder of Human Hearing:
The intricate design of the ear with minute and detailed engineering transporting acoustic waves through air, bone, liquid, membrane and hairs to become electrical signals to go to the brain… A totally awe-inspiring example of irreducible complexity, design and purpose.

The Wonder of the Human Voice:
This presentation shows that our mouths and throats are built with a unique ability for large variations in types sound produced. Unlike chimps, our tongues are very versatile and our oral cavity is built for speech and supremely singing. Each voice is unique and One Voice is supreme such that even the wind and the waves must obey that Voice.

The Wonder of Fossils:
This talk addresses the remarkable fact that fossils are often found in high mountains and also show that they have been buried quickly with sometimes even soft parts preserved. Everything indicates that most fossils have been formed catastrophically by water-borne sedimentation.

The Wonder of Feathers:
The design of feathers, membranes and scales show the fascinating details of flight in the natural world, bringing a sense of awe and wonder. This talk will show that birds of prey are spectacular fliers and owls especially have the secret of quiet flight.

The Intricacies of Flight:
Flight requires carefully balanced wings with extra air surfaces to control and manoeuvre the flying creature through the air. It is not just a matter of adding random feathers or wings in an arbitrary attempt to gain mastery of the air. The right equipment must be there from the beginning.

The Wonder of Migration:
What does migration in birds and insects reveal about their Designer? Birds remarkably not only know where to go, but how much food (fuel) to eat to get there, but also a number of birds leave their young on long journeys that the young make later having never been there before!

The Wonder of Insects:
We look at the amazing design of butterflies, flies and beetles and the extraordinary metamorphosis in these creatures that defies evolution.

Insect Inspiration from the Bombardier Beetle:
The bombardier beetle is one of the most remarkable creatures with an amazing weapon to beat off predators! This talk considers the speaker’s own research which has inspired a raft of practical applications including pharmaceutical sprays, fire extinguishers, fuel injectors and aerosols. This example of design in creation points us to the Creator and inspires ongoing work today.

Design and Irreducible Complexity — Smart Designs in Living Creatures:
This talk reveals one of the most compelling arguments against evolution—how all things need to be in place for certain things to work, using examples that God designed first in nature and man has copied in industry.

The Fingerprint of Intelligence — Thermodynamics and Information:
The talk shows the impossibility from thermodynamics of information arising without intelligence. It shows the connection between information and thermodynamics and that there are parallel laws governing the transfer of information. The talk concludes that information is a third fundamental quantity distinct from matter and energy.

Has Science Killed God?:
Atheism has no answer to the strong evidence of design in nature, cannot give a coherent basis for mind and logic, fails to give a platform for ethics and undermines any understanding for meaning and truth. The Christian position is robust in all four areas.

Science, Mathematics and Beauty:
What is the nature of mathematics? It is more than language and logic; it is not physical in nature but rather conceptual. Mathematics is abstract and yet very real. It shows clearly that we are made in the image of a rational God.

Faraday – Man of Science, Man of God:
The life of Michael Faraday shows that his belief in God drove his scientific enquiry.

The Heavens Declare…:
Psalm 19 says “The heavens declare the glory of God” – As we look at the sun, moon, stars and solar system, we see strong evidence that all of the universe is designed and gives glory to God.

Who Controls the Climate?:
This talk looks carefully at the climate science and concludes that the evidence indicates it is not man that controls it. Scripture and history show that God has many times used climatic disasters to show His sovereignty, has judged the world with a worldwide flood in the past and will judge this present world by fire.

The Christian and the Environment:
This talk addresses how even in a fallen world the Christian has a responsibility to the sustainable use of the resources given to us. Though we are to “fill the earth and subdue it” this is to be done with a responsible control of the land, and such that our waste is not inflicted on others and that we do not pollute our rivers and oceans and the air all of us breathe.

Why Creation Is Theologically Important:
The relevance of Creation for Christians: A Bible-based talk dealing with the days of Creation and showing the connection of Biblical Creation with the Gospel and the death of Christ . There was no death before the Fall and the Bible is not consistent with God using evolution.

Reconnecting the Gospel to a Godless Culture:
How do we reach out to minds indoctrinated with post- modern thinking, which perceive the Gospel as irrelevant? We must deal with origins to show the sinfulness of man and the coherence of the Gospel.

Noah’s Ark and the Flood:
The feasibility of Noah ’s Ark and the worldwide flood as described in Genesis 6-9. How many animals? The size of the Ark and its stability.

How to Use Apologetics in the Pulpit and on the Pavement:
How should we use apologetics both in the pulpit and in the open air? The importance of giving an answer for the robust position of Christianity in science, rationality and our experience. Even our suffering only makes sense in Christ as our Creator and Saviour.

Who Am I? – Just Molecules?:
The crisis of identity affects much of the western world today. Man, who thinks he has no need of God, then finds that he has no idea what it is to be human.

How Science Grew Out of the Reformation:
Not only did the Reformation unleash the real Gospel to be preached to millions but also freed science from an authoritarian structure into empirical verification.
