Dr. Marcus Ross has loved paleontology (especially dinosaurs) since he was a kid growing up in Rhode Island. After earning a B.S. in Earth Science from the Pennsylvania State University, he continued his studies with a M.S. in Vertebrate Paleontology from the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology and a Ph.D. in Environmental Science (Geoscience) from the University of Rhode Island.

His research focuses on mosasaurs, a group of extinct marine reptiles, while his broader scholarly interests engage questions surrounding the creation–evolution controversy and the ways geology intersects with the biblical accounts of Creation and Noah’s Flood. His highly sought-after expertise is featured in the film, “Is Genesis History,” in the book “Perspectives on the Historical Adam and Eve,” and in many speaking engagements and video interviews. From 2005 to 2021, he served as Professor of Geology and Director of the Center for Creation Studies at Liberty University, where the vertebrate paleontologist taught courses in Earth science, environmental science, geology, paleontology, and creation studies.

Dr. Ross currently serves as a Fellow of the Center and as CEO of Cornerstone Educational Supply. He lives in Lynchburg, Virginia, with his wife Corinna, where they homeschool their four children.

Dr. Ross’ engaging and gracious lectures feature in-depth discussions of the intersection of science and faith, and he regularly contributes to creationist research and education in both technical and popular literature.
